? The Short Story: The 23rd-ranked Johns Hopkins women's lacrosse team outscored visiting Hofstra, 12-1, over the final 34 minutes to win 15-6 on Saturday afternoon.

How it Happened
? Hopkins jumped on top of Hofstra early with a pair of goals in a 72 second span. Senior Shannon Fitzgerald opening the scoring with a quick-stick shot off a feed from sophomore Maggie Schneidereith at 26:07. Schneidereith then dodged from behind and scored from the doorstep to stake the Blue Jays to the early two-goal lead.
? Alex Mattera answered with a pair of unassisted goals over a seven-minute stretch to pull the Pride even with 15:28 to play in the half. Just 71 seconds later, sophomore Mackenzie Heldberg found classmate Lexi Souder open in the right alley and Souder beat Maggie Fields high-to-low to put Hopkins up 3-2.
? Drew Shapiro cashed in on a free position shot at the 11:47-mark to spark a three-goal Hofstra run as the visitors went up 5-3 just over six minutes later. Alyssa Parrella followed with back-to-back goals to give the Pride the two-goal cushion.
? Schneidereith answered with 4:18 to play, scoring off the dodge, to spark a nine-goal Hopkins run. Senior Emily Kenul then tied the game just 78 seconds later, taking a pass from Fitzgerald and blowing a shot past Fields from eight yards out. Schneidereith put the Blue Jays on top with just 90 seconds to play in the half when she spun on her defender and scored on a high to low shot. Senior CeCe Finney capped the first-half scoring when she took a pass from junior Miranda Ibello and slotted a shot inside the right post with just 32.8 ticks on the clock.
? Ibello opened the scoring in the second half with an unassisted tally at 24:29 to stake Hopkins to an 8-5 lead. Freshman Aurora Cordingley converted a free position shot at 18:51 and Schneidereith followed with a goal from the doorstep just 38 seconds later. Heldberg pushed the lead to 11-5 at the 14:17-mark as she dodged from behind, then beat a pair of defenders to score from in-tight. Cordingley capped the run with a highlight-reel worthy goal. Fitzgerald found her cutting across the fan and with a pair of defenders on her back, whipped a behind-the-back shot past Fields to push the lead to seven.
? Parrella scored her third straight goal for the Pride, scoring on a free position shot with 12:16 to play, to make it 12-6. Cordingley answered less than two minutes as the Blue Jays scored in transition. Fitzgerald picked up her second of the day, dodging from the top of the fan and scoring from close range to make it 14-6. Heldberg had the final say of the game, scoring on a free position shot with just 1:06 to play.

? Hopkins improves to 6-2 all-time against Hofstra and has won six straight in the series.
? Fitzgerald tied her career-best with a game-high three assists while her five points are one shy of her career-high. For the second straight game, Schneidereith tied her career-high with four goals. In addition, Cordingley posted her second straight hat trick.
