The Short Story: Hopkins opened the second day of the Navy Labor Day Open with an exhibition win over Lindenwood. JHU then rolled past La Salle, 21-4, to wrap up the opening weekend.

How it Happened • Lindenwood
• Hopkins jumped out to a 3-1 lead with 1:39 left in the first quarter but a last-second goal by Lindenwood made it a one-goal match at the quarter break. The Blue Jays responded with six unanswered goals in the second to go into the half with an 8-2 lead.Â
• The teams traded goals in the third quarter and Hopkins held an 11-4 lead going into the final period. The Blue Jays picked up where they left off to start the fourth, scoring the first two goals to push their lead to 13-4. Lindenwood then sandwiched a pair of goals around one from JHU in the final 2:14 to account for the 14-6 final.

How it Happened • La Salle
• Hopkins scored the game's first seven goals in a run that spanned the opening 12minutes. Sophomore
Nico Ivanov fueled the game-opening run with a pair of goals. The Explorers got on the board with 2:49 to play in the second and scored the next four goals to make it just a three-goal game with 1:41 left in the half.
• Freshman
Emerson Sullivan ended La Salle's run with an ejection goal at 55 seconds. That sparked a run that saw Hopkins score the final 14 goals of the game.

What it Means
• Hopkins improves to 3-0 all-time against La Salle, with all three wins coming by double digits.
• The Blue Jays' 21 goals are their most in a game since a 21-1 win over Connecticut College on October 24, 2015. It is also the largest margin of victory for JHU since that same game.
