The Short Story: The Johns Hopkins men's swim team won 11 of 14 events to sweep its quad meet with Stevens, Swarthmore and Rowan Saturday afternoon.
Quoting Coach Armstrong
• "The team is coming off three amazing weeks of training. Under a workload like this it can be very hard to have any speed. Today we saw that this team is really coming together and was able to put together a strong performance. Everyone will be excited for the rest coming in a couple weeks."

Christopher Arena beat the field with an NCAA B cut of 15:55.25. Freshman
Collin Hughes placed fourth with a time of 16:39.23.

Matt McGough then won the 200 Free with a career-best time of 1:42.51. Senior
Erik Bostrom also swam a career best, 1:43.83, as he finished in third.
• Chen and Corbitt followed with a one-two finish in the 100 Back. Chen won the event in 51.54 with Corbitt touching in 52.19.
• Lazorchak and Kuyl then tied for second place in the 100 Breast with a time of 57.76.
• Vitek and sophomore
Riley Mears took two of the top three spots in the 200 Fly. Vitek grabbed the win with a time of 1:51.27. Mears placed third with a career-best swim of 1:57.03
• Sophomore
Noah Frassrand turned in a career-best time of 21.81 to place third in the 50 Free.
• Fabian then won the 100 Free with a 46.48, while Corbitt placed third with a 46.91.
• The Blue Jays then swept first through third in the 200 Back, led by McGough and his time of 1:54.20 for his second win. Kuyl followed in second place (1:57.08) and Frassrand took third (1:57.57).
• Junior
Jasper Van Cauwelaert continued the Blue Jays' winning ways as he swam a 2:07.38 to take the top spot in the 200 Breast. Sophomore
Marcelo Lauzurique claimed second place as he finished in 2:08.79.
• Bostrom and freshman
Mitchell Simmons repeated the feat in the 500 Free. Bostrom grabbed the win with a 4:39.60 while Simmons turned in a career best 4:40.19.
• Vitek earned his second win as he clocked in at 50.62 in the 100 Fly. Wachenfeld placed fifth as he finished in 52.82.
• In the final individual event of the day, McGough placed second with a 1:54.77 in the 200 IM. Chen followed in 1:55.29 to place third.
• The Blue Jays wrapped up the day with a win in the 200 Free Relay. Fabian, Davenport, Frassrand and Kuyl combined for a 1:23.47.
