BALTIMORE, MD – The Johns Hopkins football team maintained its top-20 rankings in the American Football Coaches Association (AFCA) and D3football.com Polls this week. The Blue Jays moved up two spots to #16 in the AFCA Poll and held steady at #20 in the D3football.com Poll.  Johns Hopkins had a bye last weekend and moves into the second half of its season at 4-1 overall and 3-1 in the Centennial Conference.
 
This is the 84th consecutive week the Blue Jays have appeared in the AFCA Poll (either in the top 25 or receiving votes) and this week's top 25 ranking is the 100^th in program history (the AFCA Poll debuted in 1999).
 
The Blue Jays began the year ranked sixth in the D3football.com Poll and this week's #20 ranking marks Hopkins' 108^th all-time top 25 ranking from D3football.com (poll debuted in 2003).
 
The top seven teams in both polls are identical with defending national champion Mary Hardin-Baylor holding down the top spot in both.  Mount Union is second with Wisconsin-Whitewater, St. John's (MN), Wheaton (IL), Centennial-rival Muhlenberg and Berry (GA) rounding out the consensus top seven.
 
Johns Hopkins will return to action on Saturday, October 19 when the Blue Jays welcome Franklin & Marshall (3-2, 2-2) to Homewood Field.
