How it Happened
SET ONE
• Hopkins came out firing from th start, racing out to an early 10-3 lead. The nation's most efficient attacking team tallied five kills on its first 11 attacks and added a pair of aces to command the early advantage. Â
•
Eleni Panagopoulos notched her fourth kill of the set to extend the Blue Jay lead to 11-4.
• Following a service change, junior
Nicole Hada stepped to the service line, making her first appearance since back on Sept. 13 against Virginia Wesleyan. Hada commanded points on the next 10 serves to balloon the Hopkins lead to 21-4.
 •
Louisa Kishton closed out a first set that saw the Blue Jays hit at a .353 clip with her team-high sixth kill of the opening frame.
SET TWO
• Not much changed to start the second set, as Hopkins ran out to a 13-3 advantage before finally forcing a Washington College timeout. The Blue Jay offense was even more efficient in the second, connecting on eight of its first ten swings.
• Hopkins was again dominant from the service line, totaling six aces through the first 15 points (Panagopoulos, 4; Hada, 2).
•
Hannah Korslund and
Lauren Anthony were each credited with kills to give the Blue Jays set point at 24-10 before a Shorewoman hitting error finished off the set for Hopkins.
SET THREE
• Kishton tallied her first three kills on the night in one service turn to extend Hopkins' lead to 12-5 after Washington College hung around early.
• The third set would ultimately be the closest of the match, but despite being the only set that the Jays would hit below .300, they would get a pair of kills from Kishton to close out the night and give Hopkins its second conference win of the year.
Inside the Box Score
• Hopkins came into this week as the only team in the country to be hitting above .300 as a team (.306). That number will only receive a bump up after tonight as the Blue Jays hit at an impressive .370 average.
• Kishton matched her second-highest kill total of the year with a team-high 17 on the night.
•
Nicole Hada returned to the lineup after missing 12 matches, totaling seven assists, seven digs and a trio of aces.
