« The Blue Jays enter this week's game at Ursinus having won 29 consecutive games in the month of October dating back to a 26-17 loss at - coincidentally - Ursinus on October 26, 2010.
« Ironically, the Blue Jays had been just 10-8 in their previous 18 games in the month of October before jump-starting the current 29-game run with a 49-24 win at Susquehanna (10-23-2010).
Before The Bye
« This week's game at Ursinus will be the last game for the Blue Jays before their bye week. After the game at UC, they will return to action on Saturday, October 19 when F&M visits Homewood Field.
« Dating back to 2011, the Blue Jays are 43-3 in games played before their bye.

Getting On Track
« Johns Hopkins scored a season-high 41 points in the 41-0 victory over Moravian (9-20) and followed that with a 37-point effort at Dickinson last week. After scoring 17 points at Randolph-Macon, the Blue Jays have scored 27, 41 and 37 points in their last three games.
« In addition to the scoring being up over the last three games, the yards have started to pile up for the Blue Jays as well. After punching up 277 yards of total offense in the season-opener at Randolph-Macon, JHU has 409 (Susquehanna), 484 (Moravian) and 482 (Dickinson) yards in its last three games,
Just the Second Time
« Johns Hopkins totaled 370 passing yards against Susquehanna on September 14 and came back with 374 against Moravian on September 20. Remarkably, this is just the second time in school history that Johns Hopkins has thrown for 370+ yards in back-to-back games.
« JHU rolled up 433 passing yards against Dickinson and 545 against Gettysburg in back-to-back games in 2011 for the only other consecutive 350-yard passing efforts in school history.
« JHU missed throwing for 350+ in three straight games by just three yards last week as the Blue Jays had 347 passing yards at Dickinson.
Tammaro Reaches 9,000
« With 377 yards of total offense last week at Dickinson (30 rushing - 347 passing), senior quarterback David Tammaro went over 9,000 career yards of total offense. He now has 8,382 passing yards and 717 rushing yards for 9,099 of total offense - a mark that ranks second in school history (Hewitt Tomlin (2008-11) ... 10,677).
« Tammaro is now 649-of-1,002 for 8,382 yards with 68 touchdowns against 12 interceptions in his career. He ranks in the top three in every career passing record in school history (see chart - page 4).
« Tammaro also holds the Johns Hopkins career touchdowns responsible for record with 84 (68 passing / 16 rushing).
« Tammaro is the sixth Centennial Conference quarterback to top 8,000 career passing yards and 9,000 yards of total offense and the seventh to account for 80 or more touchdowns.
Hubley Climbing
« Junior wide receiver Ryan Hubley continued his hot streak with six receptions for 62 yards and one touchdown at Dickinson, which followed a productive outing against Moravian when he had 10 receptions for 112 yards and one touchdown. This came one week after one of the finest games of his career against Susquehanna as he totaled 12 receptions for 161 yards and also returned two kickoffs for 41 yards against the River Hawks.
« The 12 receptions and 161 receiving yards against Susquehanna both matched Hubley's previous career highs and the 202 all-purpose yards are a personal best.
« With 10 receptions against Moravian, he is the first Johns Hopkins player with 10 or more receptions in back-to-back games since current Blue Jay special teams coordinator/defensive line coach Dan Wodicka had 13 against McDaniel and 12 against St. John Fisher in 2011 (Wodicka also did it earlier in the 2011 season against Dickinson (11) and Gettysburg (15)).
« Hubley leads the team and the Centennial Conference in receptions (31) and receiving yards (368) yards and has two touchdown on the year.
« With his recent efforts, Hubley ranks 10th in school history in career receptions (143) and 15th in receiving yards (1,600).
Wellmann Enters Record Book
« Sophomore wide receiver Harrison Wellmann enjoyed the finest game of his career in the win at Dickinson with 298 all-purpose yards, a kickoff return for a touchdown and a career-high 142 receiving yards.
« Wellmann's 95-yard kickoff return for a TD against the Red Devils is tied for the longest in school history and he returned three kickoffs on the day for 156 yards (52.0 yards/game). He added eight receptions for 142 yards to ring up his 298-yard all-purpose performance. For his efforts he was named the Centennial Conference Special Teams Player of the Week.
« Wellmann's 298 all-purpose yards against Dickinson rank as the eighth-best total in school history and he now has 25 receptions for 367 yards and four touchdowns and 10 kickoff returns for 323 yards and the one score this season. His 172.5 all-purpose yards per game lead the Centennial Conference and rank 16th nationally.
In Case You Hadn't Noticed
« The Johns Hopkins defense has at least one interception in each of the first four games this season, in five straight games dating back to last season and in six of the last seven.
« JHU has 13 interceptions in the last seven games dating back to 2018 and has recorded multiple INTs in four of the seven.]
« JHU intercepted four passes - all in the fourth quarter - in the 17-12 season-opening win at Randolph-Macon. The four interceptions mark the 13th time since 2001 that the Johns Hopkins defense has intercepted four or more passes in a game. Prior to the game at RMC, the last four-INT game for JHU came last October in a 27-16 win over 22nd-ranked Muhlenberg.
Chimera Wins First Game as Head Coach
« The 17-12 win at Randolph-Macon was the first for Greg Chimera as head coach of the Blue Jays. Chimera was named the head coach on February 22, 2019 after long-time coach Jim Margraff passed away suddenly on January 2, 2019.
« Chimera played at Johns Hopkins from 2005-08 before spending the 2009-18 seasons as an assistant coach under Margraff.
« In 10 seasons as a member of the coaching staff, Chimera helped guide the Blue Jays to a record of 102-17, 10 consecutive Centennial Conference titles and nine trips to the NCAA Playoffs.
« Chimera served as the Blue Jay offensive coordinator from 2014-18. During that time, Johns Hopkins averaged 502.9 yards and 42.1 points per game (over a span of 61 games).
Close Calls
« Since the start of the 2013 season, Johns Hopkins has lost a total of nine games. Those nine losses have come by five, three, five, seven, four, three, two, eight and one point. Translation, Johns Hopkins' nine losses since the start of the 2013 season have all come by a touchdown or less and by a total of just 37 points.
