The Short Story: Sophomore

Â
How it Happened
• Leading by three with 13:20 to play in the first half, senior
Harry O'Neil converted a pair of free throws to spark a 15-4 run. Quarry and junior
Joey Kern combined for three triples to fuel the run that saw the Blue Jays go up 25-11 with 7:42 left. Goucher scored five unanswered points to cut the deficit to single digits just 94 seconds later.
• Freshman
Carson James and Quarry responded with back-to-back buckets just 30 seconds apart to ignite another run. This one spanned the final five minutes and sent Hopkins into the half with a 46-22 lead. Sophomore
Braeden Johnson capped the first half with a half-court buzzer-beater for one of his three triples in the game.
• The lead never dipped below 20 points in the second half and ballooned to as much as 39 late in the game.  Â
