BALTIMORE, MD – The 12th-ranked Johns Hopkins women's soccer team earned the number two seed in this weekend's Centennial Conference Tournament at Dickinson College. The Blue Jays sit at 12-2-4 on the season, and compiled a 6-1-3 record in Centennial play.
HOW THEY GOT HERE
• After hosting the tournament the last two seasons, Hopkins will head to Carlisle, PA for the Centennial Semifinals on Saturday. The Blue Jays remain the only team to qualify for every tournament since its inception in 2001.
• The Blue Jays earned the number two seed after a 3-1 victory over Franklin & Marshall in the final game of the 2019 regular season. Haverford and Gettysburg both lost on Saturday, allowing Johns Hopkins to secure the second seed.
• Haverford College earned the three seed in the conference tournament, posting a 6-2-2 record in conference play. Haverford finished the regular season with an overall record of 12-3-2, ripping off eight straight victories at one point in the season before dropping two of their final three conference matchups.
• Dickinson grabbed the number one seed, and the right to host, after completing an unbeaten Centennial Conference season. The Red Devils finished 8-0-2 in conference play and is ranked 11
th in the country with a 13-1-4 record. The Blue Jays and Muhlenberg were the two teams to earn results against Dickinson in the conference.
• Gettysburg defeated McDaniel in the 4/5 matchup to earn a spot in the semifinals. The Bullets took a 2-0 first half lead and held on for a 2-1 victory on Wednesday night.
