JHU Sweeps Relays, Petersen, Wang Earn Individual Wins for JHU

From Head Coach Scott Armstrong
"It was a great meet, especially coming off the Florida training and the hardest stretch of work all season.  We are excited to get settled back into Baltimore and a regular routine."

A Relay Sweep
• The Blue Jays won both relays contested in the meet with first-place finishes in the 200 medley and 200 free relays.
•  In the meet-opening medley relay, the team of Cecilia Cortez, Sonia Lin, Michelle Wang and Kiki Petersen clocked in at 1:45.48 to edge the top team from Bucknell by just 0:13.
• In the free relay, the Blue Jays had a bit more breathing room down the stretch as Alison Shapiro, Mikayla Bisignani, Kristen Alicea-Jorgensen and Petersen finished in 1:36.38 while Bucknell's top team was more than a second behind at 1:37.75.

A Sweep for Petersen
• In addition to swimming the anchor leg on the two winning relay teams, Petersen also picked up a pair of first-place finishes of her own as she won the 50 free (23.89) and the 100 free (51.34).

One-Two
•  In addition to Petersen's efforts, the Blue Jays also got a first-place finish in the 200 fly from senior Michelle Wang, who clocked in at 2:05.05.  Wang narrowly edged teammate Emerson Davis, who finished second in the event with a time of 2:05.33 to give the Blue Jays a 1-2 finish.

Other Strong Finishes
• The Blue Jays got a runner-up finish in the 1000 free from Elaine Limpkin (10:25.31), went 2-3-4 in the 100 back (Sydney Okubo (57.53), Cortez (57.57) and Renee Liu (58.49)) and earned second-place finishes from Sonia Lin in the 100 breast (1:06.67), Okubo in the 200 back (2:04.87), Lin in the 200 breast (2:25.97), and Wang in the 100 fly (57.38) and the 200 IM (2:06.46).
