Blue Jay Offense Flourishes, Defense Stifles In Road Victory At Bryn Mawr

How it Happened
The Blue Jays held Bryn Mawr to four points or less in three of four quarters, dominating the Owls 82-20 on Saturday afternoon. Every Blue Jay that stepped on the court scored for Johns Hopkins in the win. 

Elise Moore and Emily Howie both scored 12 points to lead JHU while Sophie deBettencourt poured in a career-high 11. Erin Walsh and Jess Sweeney joined the trio in double figures, scoring 10 points each, giving Sweeney a new career-high. 

JHU shot a season-best 51 percent from the field, knocking down 46 percent of its three-pointers in the contest. Hopkins shot a perfect 15-15 from the charity stripe, the second time they've done so this season. 

The Blue Jays wasted no time getting off and running in the contest, starting the game with a 14-0 run over the first five minutes. Howie hit three triples in less than a minute to help build the Hopkins lead to 20-2 with four minutes left to play in the period. With 3:05 to play in the first half, deBettencourt scored to give Hopkins a 28-point lead, its largest of the first half. 

Leading by 27 at the half, the third quarter was all Johns Hopkins. The Blue Jays outscored the Owls 24-2 in the period, extending their lead to 49 after three. Hopkins outscored Bryn Mawr 17-4 in the final period to earn a 62-point victory.

• Johns Hopkins remains unbeaten against Bryn Mawr in the series history. 
• JHU remains a half-game up on Dickinson for third-place in the Centennial Conference standings.
