How it Happened
1st Half
• Johns Hopkins wasted no time putting the pressure on Ursinus. The Jays totaled four shots in the first 5:34 of the contest, forcing Maddie Nau to make saves on shots from
Riley O'Toole and
Rachel Jackson. The Blue Jays earned a corner just about six minutes into the contest.
Lilah Isenberg sent the corner into the box, finding the head of
Bonnie Shea. The ball caromed off the cross bar, but Jackson was right there to head home the rebound and put JHU up 1-0. The goal was Jackson's fourth this season. Nau made saves on shots from O'Toole and
Katie Sullivan in the 12th and 16th minutes, keeping it a 1-0 game. The Blue Jay shot barrage slowed down substantially as they were held without a shot for the final 30 minutes of the half.
2nd Half
• The Blue Jays broke it open in the second half with Sullivan's seventh goal of the season coming in the 53rd. O'Toole received the ball in the right corner from
Amaya Ellis, sent in a beautiful cross and found the head of the freshman Sullivan who headed it home for a 2-0 lead. Hopkins struck again 10 minutes later to really ice the game away.
Callie Jones sent a ball into the box,
Elise Stanley and Nau collided and with the ball bouncing freely,
Emma Bocanegra ran onto it and fired it into the net for a 3-0 lead. Bocanegra scored again in the 76th minute to extend the lead to 4-0.
Katia Chiampas found the scoresheet in the 87th minute to finish off the scoring in a 5-0 victory.
