Wolf, Seidel Earn Centennial Player of the Week Honors

Junior RB, Senior DB Honored After Win Against Susquehanna

BALTIMORE, MD – For the second time during the 2021 season, Johns Hopkins has grabbed the Centennial Conference Offensive and Defensive Football Players of the Week it was announced by the league office.  Junior running back Danny Wolf earned his first nod the as the Centennial Offensive Player of the Week, while senior defensive back Nick Seidel earned Defensive Player of the Week honors for the first time as well.  Both were selected after helping the Blue Jays to a 38-17 win over then 18th-ranked Susquehanna on Saturday.
 
Wolf rushed 26 times for a career-high 140 yards and four touchdowns and also had one reception for five yards to account for 145 all-purpose yards in the victory against Susquehanna.  He scored on runs of 23, 1, 22, and 2 yards against the River Hawks; his four rushing touchdowns mark the third time in the last nine games dating back to the 2019 season that he has rushed for four or more touchdowns.  Wolf's effort on Saturday boosted his season rushing totals to 617 yards and 14 touchdowns while he also has 13 receptions 155 yards and one touchdown.
 
Seidel and the Blue Jay defense held Susquehanna more than 26 points and nearly 150 yards below its season averages entering the game.  Seidel posted nine tackles, including one sack, forced a fumble and had one pass breakup to his credit.  His forced fumble came on his sack late in the first quarter and led to a Johns Hopkins field goal that gave the Blue Jays a 17-0 lead. Despite missing three full games, Seidel ranks fifth on the team in tackles with 32 and also has three pass breakups, two tackles for losses, one sack and one forced fumble.
 
Johns Hopkins (7-1, 6-1 CC) will return to action on Saturday, November 6 when the Blue Jays welcome Dickinson (3-5, 3-4 CC) to Homewood Field.  Kickoff is set for 1 pm.
