The Short Story: Gannon used a strong second half to take control en route to a 13-9 win over the Johns Hopkins water polo team Saturday at the Mid-Atlantic Water Polo Conference Championship.

How it Happened
• Freshman
Christopher Lo opened the scoring just 28 seconds in to give Hopkins the early lead. Vlad Mickic and John Vieira answered with back-to-back goals to put Gannon up 2-1 after one.
• Jordan Kraus scored a man-up goal 48 seconds into the second to push the Golden Knights lead to two. Freshman
Ian Raley responded with a goal at the 5:32-mark to pull the Blue Jays back within one. Tony Squeglia and Mickic then sandwiched goals around one from sophomore
Cameron Burns and Gannon took a 5-3 lead into the half.
• The teams traded scores in the third quarter and the Golden Knights led 10-7 after three. Gannon pushed its lead to four early in the final quarter. The teams then alternated goals over the final seven minutes and the Golden Knights took the 13-9 win. Â

Jayden Kunwar led the Blue Jays with three goals, while Burns and Raley had two each.

Kyle Pearson made seven saves in the cage for the Blue Jays.

• Hopkins will take on eighth-seeded Mount St. Mary's in the seventh place game on Sunday, November 21. The game is scheduled for a 9:00 am start at Lejeune Hall.
