BALTIMORE, MD – The Johns Hopkins football team debuted at number 14 in the first American Football Coaches Association (AFCA) top 25 Poll of the 2021 season this week and moved up three spots to number 18 in this week's D3football.com Poll.  The Blue Jays are 3-0 overall and 2-0 in the Centennial Conference after topping Juniata on the road last Saturday.
 
The AFCA does not issue a preseason poll and generally doesn't issue its first in-season poll until after the third week of the season.  Including this week's #14 ranking, Johns Hopkins has now been ranked in the top 25 of the AFCA Poll 101 times in 216 weeks since the poll debuted in 1999.  More recently, the Blue Jays have been ranked in the top 25 in 83 of the the last 91 polls dating back to 2011.
 
Johns Hopkins jumped from 21^st to 18^th in this week's D3football.com Poll after the win against Juniata.  The Blue Jays began the year receiving votes in the D3football.com Poll, jumped to number 25 after a week-one win at Stevenson and moved to 21^st after knocking off Ursinus in week two.  This week's #18 ranking marks the 112^th time Johns Hopkins has appeared in the top 25 of the D3football.com (poll debuted in 2003).
 
Johns Hopkins will return to action on Saturday, September 25 when the Blue Jays travel to Moravian (0-2, 0-2 Centennial) for a Centennial Conference matchup against the Greyhounds.
