How it Happened
Hopkins opened with a 15-12 win over NJIT, fueled by a 9-0 win by the Foil squad. The Sabre squad lost a close match, 5-4, while Epee lost 7-2. The Blue Jays then fell to 14
th-ranked North Carolina, 20-7. The Tar Heels swept all three weapons (Sabre 7-2, Foil 6-3, Epee, 7-2). Hopkins ended the day with a 24-3 loss to third-ranked Princeton. The Tigers won the Foil, 6-3, and took the Epee and Sabre by 9-0 scores.
