LANCASTER, PA – Johns Hopkins sophomore middle blocker
Chidinma Onukwugha has been named the Centennial Conference Volleyball Defensive Player-of-the-Week it was announced today. Onukwugha guided Johns Hopkins to three wins, including a pair of Centennial Conference victories. in four matches last week. This is the first time in Onukwugha's career that she has earned the award.

Onukwugha collected 17 blocks (1.42/set) in the Blue Jays' four matches last week, including a career-high 10 (3 solo / 7 assisted) in a four-set win over Centennial Conference-rival Haverford. In addition to the 10 blocks, she had a career-high 16 kills and hit .481 against Haverford and had 30 kills (2.5/set) on the week.

Johns Hopkins will return to the court on Wednesday, October 5 when the Blue Jays welcome Gettysburg to Goldfarb Gym for a Centennial Conference match against the Bullets (7 pm).
