BALTIMORE, MD – The Johns Hopkins water polo team dropped its final two regular season games on Sunday at the Newton White Aquatic Center. Hopkins dropped a 19-11 decision to 18
th-ranked Fordham and then fell 21-11 to Navy.
The first quarter between the Blue Jays and the Rams was tightly contested as the teams traded goals and were tied at four heading into the second. Fordham scored three straight to open the second and push out to a 7-4 lead. Freshman

Emerson Sullivan ended the run with back-to-back goals to pull the Blue Jays back within one.
The Rams responded with five unanswered in a run that bridged halftime as they took a 12-6 lead with 6:31 to go in the third. Sullivan got one back for the Blue Jays, but again the Rams answered. Fordham scored six in a row as its lead ballooned to 11 with 7:22 to play. Brooke, freshmen

Quint Steffey combined for four goals in the final seven minutes, sandwiched around a Rams' goal, to account for the 19-11 final.
In the nightcap, Hopkins held an early 3-2 lead after goals from freshman
Dado Soares and sophomore
Chris Lo. Navy tied the game with a Holden Seybold goal that sparked a 10-2 run as the Mids stormed out to a 12-5 lead at the half.
Jake Altmayer opened the third-quarter scoring to push Navy's lead to eight just 71 seconds in. Sullivan answered with back-to-back goals, followed by another Soares score to make it a 13-8 game with 2:45 to go in the third. Navy closed the quarter with a 3-1 spurt to take a 16-9 lead into the fourth quarter. The Mids picked up right where they left, scoring the four straight to push their lead to 20-9. Seniors

Kami Eslami scored back-to-back goals, followed by a Erik Nordquist goal for Navy to close out the game.
Hopkins returns to action in two weeks at the 2022 Mid-Atlantic Water Polo Conference Championship.
