Diarra Oden has been named Centennial Conference Player of the Year. This is Oden's second selection to the All-Centennial first team.
Emily Howie was named to the Centennial Conference second team, her second Centennial honor.
Oden is the first Centennial Conference Player of the Year for the Blue Jays since 2011 and the fifth in program history. Head Coach
Katherine Bixby has had two Centennial Conference selections in each of her four seasons at the helm of the Blue Jays.
Oden is the first Blue Jay guard to win Player of the Year since Leslie Ritter in 1999. The Atlanta, GA native is the leading scorer of the 22-4 Blue Jays, averaging 16.0 points per contest. Oden is fourth on the team in rebounds, grabbing 4.8 per contest. She has chipped in with 38 assists and 37 steals on the season. The senior guard surpassed 1,000 points for her career earlier this season, sitting at 1,052 points in 79 career games. The three-year captain ranks in the top-20 in Blue Jay history in multiple categories in both single-season and career marks. Last month, Oden earned CoSIDA Academic All-District honors.
Howie earns second-team honors after being named an Honorable Mention selection as a freshman. Howie started all 19 games she played in, averaging 7.1 points per game, 5.9 rebounds per game and just over four assists per contest. The junior point guard added 33 steals and knocked down 25 threes.
