BALTIMORE, MD – The Johns Hopkins women's swim team hosted William & Mary in both teams' season-opener Saturday at the Newton White Aquatic Center. The Tribe defeated the host Blue Jays, 210-50.
Racing at home for the first time since February 2022, Hopkins opened the meet with a fourth-place finish in the 200 Medley Relay. Freshman

Kristin Cornish grabbed second place in the 1000 Free as she clocked in at 10:36.66. Sophomore

Julia Tuinman took second and third in the 200 Free. Han finished in 1:54.46 while Tuinman touched in 1:56.81. Senior
Makenzie Higgins followed with a fourth-place finish in the 100 Back in 1:01.45.

Taylor Rohovit out-touched Natalia Rongione by 0.12 seconds to claim third place in the 100 Breast (1:08.56). Petitt then placed fourth in the 200 Fly with a time of 2:18.32. Liu led the Blue Jays with a fourth-place finish in the 50 Free as she clocked in at 24.63. She beat Cohen by just three-hundredths of a second.
Han then placed fourth in the 100 Free as she finished in 53.59. In the 200 Back, Higgins took fourth place with a time of 2:09.25. Liu followed with a fourth-place showing in the 200 Breast in 2:29.61. Cornish grabbed another second-place finish as she swam a 5:10.72 in the 500 Free. Tuinman finished in fourth place with her time of 5:15.40.
Petitt took third place in the 100 Fly as she touched in 1:00.73. Freshman
Ayden Min placed fourth with a time of 1:01.51. Sophomore
Rachel Davis swam to a fourth-place finish in the 200 IM in 2:13.39, just two-hundredths of a second out of third place.
Hopkins finished up the day with third and fourth-place finishes in the 200 Free Relay. The team of Liu, Cohen, Higgins and Han finished in 1:37.79. Tuinman, sophomore

The Blue Jays are back in action at the Thomas Murphy Invitational, hosted by Loyola, October 27-29. The meet also includes Towson and UMBC.
