Box Score BALTIMORE, MD – The Johns Hopkins water polo team fell 28-11 to Wagner in its regular season finale Sunday afternoon.
Hopkins jumped out to a 3-1 lead with goals from freshman
Alec Baker and senior
Liam Housenbold. Wagner answered with a seven-goal run that bridged the quarter break. Senior
Paul Gensbigler halted the run with a five-meter goal at 5:50 in the second quarter. Freshman
Owen Bartlett then scored an ejection goal to make it 10-5 midway through the quarter. The Seahawks scored the final three goals of the period to take a 13-5 lead into the half.
Barnabas Vidovics opened the third quarter scoring with an ejection goal just 24 seconds in. Junior
Chris Lo answered for the Blue Jays and it was 14-6. Wagner then rattled off four in a row to push out to an 18-6 lead with 2:00 to play in the third. Sophomore

Cameron Burns stopped the run with back-to-back goals to make it a 10-goal game heading into the fourth.
Gensbigler scored a man-up goal just 17 seconds into the final period to trim the deficit to single digits. The Seahawks answered with a pair of scores just 15 seconds apart. Senior
Shayan Sadiq got one back for the Blue Jays, but the visitors responded with seven straight to push the game out of reach. The teams each added a goal in the final 24 seconds to account for the 28-11 final.
Baker and Gensbigler led the Blue Jays with two goals each.
Hopkins will be off until the Mid-Atlantic Water Polo Conference Championships in two weeks. The championship begins on Friday, November 17 at Bucknell.
