Blue Jays Welcome Green Terror for Final Regular Season Game

The Game
«  Johns Hopkins (9-0, 5-0 CC) returns to Homewood Field and welcomes McDaniel (0-9, 0-5 CC) for the regular season finale for both teams.

Honoring Our Seniors
«  This week's game is the final regular season home game for the Blue Jay seniors and graduate students.  The group of 24 will be honored prior to the game.

A Look Back
«  Johns Hopkins improved to 9-0 overall and 5-0 in the Centennial Conference with a 34-23 victory at Dickinson last Saturday.
« McDaniel slipped to 0-9 overall on the year as the Green Terror stepped out of conference and fell to Salisbury, 59-20, last week.

The Facts
«  This is the 138th season of Johns Hopkins football.  JHU first fielded a team in 1882.
«  Johns Hopkins enters this week's game with an all-time record of 593-489-57 (.546).
«  Overall (and including this season), JHU owns 16 Centennial Conference titles (all won since 2002) and has qualified for the NCAA Playoffs 12 times (all since 2005).

Poll Position
« Johns Hopkins is ranked eighth in this week's AFCA Coaches Poll and seventh in this week's D3football.com Poll.
« The AFCA Poll debuted for the 2023 season on September 18 and the Blue Jays have been ranked in the top 10 in all eight polls.
« The D3football.com Poll for 2023 started with a preseason poll; JHU has been ranked in the top 20 in all 11 polls and in the top 10 in each of the last seven.
« This week's #8 ranking marks the 56th time that Johns Hopkins has appeared in the AFCA's top 10; 55 of the 56 have come since 2011.
« Since the D3football.com Poll debuted in 2003, this is the 147th time Johns Hopkins has appeared in the top 25 and 43rd time the Blue Jays have cracked the top 10.

Blue Jays Earn a Share of 16th CC Title
«  Johns Hopkins earned no worse than a share of its 16th Centennial Conference title with last week's win at Dickinson.
« The Blue Jays can lock up the outright title with a win this week against McDaniel.
« Johns Hopkins' 16 titles are the most in league history and all 16 have come since 2002.  The Blue Jays are seeking their ninth outright title (2005, 2009, 2011-2016).

Playoff Bound
«  The Blue Jays locked up the Centennial Conference's automatic bid to the upcoming NCAA Division III Playoffs with last week's win at Dickinson.
« Johns Hopkins will be making its 12th trip to the NCAAs, including its 10th since 2011.
« The 2023 NCAA Division III playoff bracket will be announced at 5 pm on November 12.

12 Straight
«  Last week's 34-23 win at Dickinson was Johns Hopkins' 12th consecutive win dating back to last season.
« The 12-game winning streak is the second longest in school history, surpassed only by a 15-game run that began in the middle of the 2010 season and ran through the end of the 2011 regular season.
« This is the ninth time JHU has had a winning streak of 10+ games - every Johns Hopkins winning streak of 10+ games has taken place since the start of the 2002 season.
« JHU's current 12-game winning streak is tied for the seventh-longest in the nation in all divisions of college football (NCAA only).  The seven longest winning streaks are as follows:

A Perfect 10
«  The Blue Jays enter this week's game looking to complete the sixth perfect regular season in school history.
« JHU went 10-0 for the first time in program history in 2011 and followed that with four consecutive 10-0 seasons from 2013-16.

November Reign
«  Entering this week's game against McDaniel, Johns Hopkins is 45-5 in regular season games played in the month of November this century, including 26-2 since 2010.
«  JHU has not lost a regular season home game in the month of November since 2007.  The Blue Jays have won 16 consecutive regular season home games in November since a loss to F&M in 2007.
« In this century, Johns Hopkins is 23-2 in regular season home games in the month of November.
«  Including last week's at Dickinson, the Blue Jays are 16-2 in their last 18 regular season road games in the month of November dating back to 2007.

At Home at Homewood
«  Johns Hopkins has extended its school-record home winning streak to 16 games (dating back to 2019) with wins this season at Homewood Field against Ithaca, Christopher Newport, Gettysburg and Ursinus.
« The 16-game home winning streak breaks the previous record of 12 straight home wins. JHU has twice (2014-15 / 2017-18) won 12 consecutive home games.
«  Since the start of the 2010 season, the Blue Jays are 63-7 (.900) at Homewood Field.

Harvey, Uggla in Rare Company
«  Junior quarterback Bay Harvey and senior running back Spencer Uggla powered a Blue Jay rushing attack that generated 258 yards in last week's win at Dickinson.
« Harvey rushed for a career-high 132 yards and two touchdowns, while Uggla added a personal-best 129 yards in the victory.
« Harvey & Uggla are the 20th JHU duo to top 100 yards in the same game and the eighth pair to top 125 in the same game.

Uggla Tops 1,000
«  Senior running back Spencer Uggla became the 29th player in school history to top 1,000 career rushing yards as his 129-yard effort at Dickinson pushed his career total to 1,103 yards.
« Uggla now ranked 26th in school history in career rushing yards, while his 15 career rushing touchdowns are tied for 20th in program history.

Harvey-Crotty Into the Record Book
«  Junior Bay Harvey hit freshman Cole Crotty with an 86-yard touchdown pass early in the third quarter last week at Dickinson.  That ranks as the sixth-longest pass play in Johns Hopkins history.

Harvey Rolling
«  Junior Bay Harvey is enjoying a strong season in his first year as the Blue Jays' starting quarterback.  Through nine games, he is 170-of-246 (.691) for 2,235 yards with 27 touchdowns against seven interceptions.  He has also rushed for a team-high 509 yards and six touchdowns thus far.
« With 2,235 yards passing and 509 yards rushing, Harvey is believed to be the first player in school history to top 2,000 passing yards and 500 rushing yards in one season.
« Harvey currently leads the Centennial in completion percentage, ranks second in touchdown passes and pass efficiency (176.0) and third in passing yards.
« Entering this week's game against McDaniel, Harvey has thrown at least two touchdown passes in eight of nine games this season and three or more in six of nine game.
« Harvey grabbed CC Offensive Player of the Week honors after throwing for 245 yards and two touchdowns and rushing for 93 yards and another score in the 34-28 win at Muhlenberg.
