#9 Johns Hopkins Runs Away With 72-52 Victory Over McDaniel

Windley Drops 20 Points to Tie Career-High

BALTIMORE, MD- Johns Hopkins came into Wednesday night's game looking to keep their six-game win streak alive against McDaniel. The Blue Jays used an excellent first half from three-point range and a steady defensive effort to pull away from the Green Terror in the second half and come away with a 72-52 victory.
 
John Windley was the standout player for JHU on the night as he tied a career-high in points with 20 and pulled down five rebounds. Windley was impressive from beyond the arc, finishing the game 6-for-8 on three-pointers in the contest.
 
McDaniel battled throughout the first half and found themselves down by just two, 15-13 with 5:30 left in the half. Johns Hopkins found a rhythm offensively in the final minutes and outscored McDaniel 20-12 to take a ten-point lead into the halftime break. During this stretch, the Blue Jays knocked down six of the nine three's they made in the half with two coming from Windley and Brian Johansson, and Tom Quarry and Jayden Nixon knocking down one a piece.
 
After a made basket from McDaniel's Russell Dandridge, the Green Terror had the deficit down to six with 15 minutes left in regulation. JHU would respond with a 22-7 run over the next ten minutes that would put the game out of reach and allow the Blue Jays to coast to the 20-point win. Johns Hopkins would finish the game shooting 50% from the floor and held their opponents to just 33%.
 
Windley led all scorers with his 20 points, followed by Johansson and Nixon who each finished with 9. The Blue Jays had 11 different players in the score column in total. Johns Hopkins moved on to 17-3 (11-2) on the season and remain in second place in the Centennial
 
McDaniel was led in points by Jonas Sujeta with 14, followed by Christian Taylor who added 12. The Green Terror dropped to 8-11 (4-9) on the season.
 
Johns Hopkins will hit the road for their next matchup when they take on Haverford on Saturday, February 4 (3 pm).
