BALTIMORE, MD – The Johns Hopkins women's basketball team sprinted out to a 15-0 lead in the first four minutes of the game, pushed the lead to 23-5 at the end of the first quarter and cruised to a 78-20 win over visiting Bryn Mawr Wednesday evening in Goldfarb Gym. With the win, the Blue Jays improve to 19-5 overall and 16-3 in the Centennial Conference, while the Owls slip to 3-19 overall and 0-17 in the Centennial.

Ten different Blue Jays found the scoring column in the opening quarter with 13 players seeing time as the Hopkins starters played only the first three minutes.Â
Natalie Mann scored five of her career-high 19 points and
Olivia Parisi added four in the opening period for the Blue Jays.

Down 23-7 early in the second quarter, the Owls got a pair of
Aliya Stubenbord free throws at the 8:12 mark, then went more than 12 minutes without scoring as the Blue Jays used a 25-0 scoring run to push the lead to 48-7 with 6:36 on the third quarter clock. Six different players scored for the Blue Jays during the 25-point run with
Aleah Spruell (8) and
Abigail St. Onge (6) combining for 14 of the 25 points during the spree.

The Owls would get a pair of late third-quarter three-pointers from
Ella Kotsen and
Kris Pasia, but
Beth Corelli scored six of her career-high 13 points in the final six minutes of the period to help the Blue Jays push the lead out to 57-13 at the end of three.

Pasia answered a five-point fourth-quarter-opening spurt for the Blue Jays with another three-pointer for the Owls to make it 62-16, but Corelli, Mann and Spruell all hit triples in a span of less than 90 seconds for the Blue Jays to extend the lead to 71-17 and a pair of St. Onge free throws with just over two minutes remaining capped the scoring and gave Hopkins its biggest lead of the game with the final score of 78-20.

• Mann (19), Corelli (13) and Spruell (11) all scored in double figures for the Blue Jays, who got points from 11 different players in the victory.
• Corelli notched the first double-double of her career as she collected 12 of Hopkins' 61 rebounds on the night. Spruell added a personal-best seven rebounds to go along with her 11 points; the 11 points are the third-best total of Spruell's career.
• In addition to her points and rebounds, Spruell had four of Johns Hopkins' 12 blocks in the game. The 12 blocks tied the Johns Hopkins single-game record; the record was originally set in a 62-47 win at Lebanon Valley on January 25, 1990. Senior

• The Blue Jay bench outscored Bryn Mawr's 68-0 as Mann, Corelli and Spruell combined for the 43 points.
• Johns Hopkins held the Owls to just 6-of-60 (.100) shooting on the night and the Jays held a decisive 61-29 rebounding advantage. The 61 rebounds are a season-high.
