Four Blue Jays Earn CSC Academic All-District Honors

Miller, Murray, O'Neil, Parisi Now on Academic All-America Ballot

BALTIMORE, MD – The Johns Hopkins women's basketball team placed four players on the 2023 College Sports Communicators (CSC) (formerly CoSIDA) Academic All-District® Team it has been announced by the organization.  Academic All-District® honorees advance to the CSC Academic All-America® ballot. First-, second- and third-team Academic All-America® honorees will be announced in mid March.
 
To be eligible for CCS Academic All-District honors, a student-athlete must have at least a 3.50 cumulative GPA, be a sophomore or above and participated in at least 50 percent of the team's game.
 
Johns Hopkins' 2023 Academic All-District Selections:
 
Greta Miller (So. • F)
Major:  Environmental Science
GPA:  3.94
« Has played in all 25 games with 23 starts.
« Averaging 6.8 points and a team-high 6.8 rebounds
« Has scored in double figures five times and collected 10 or more rebounds five times as well.
« Has a pair of double-doubles to her credit this season.
« Student assistant in the Johns Hopkins Department of Athletics assisting with budget operations.
« Athletic Communications assistant in fall overseeing volleyball and soccer in-game statistics.
« Member of Johns Hopkins Student Athlete Advisory Committee & National Honor Society for Earth Sciences.
 
Jadyn Murray (So. • C)
Major:  Psychology
GPA:  3.70
« Has played in all 25 games with 10 starts.
« Averaging 5.1 points and 2.8 rebounds per game and ranks second on the team in steals (25) and blocks (13).
« Has scored in double figures three times and collected six or more three rebounds three times a well.
« Leads the team in field goal percentage (.505).
« Volunteer Tutor with Next One Up working with middle school & high school students in Baltimore City.
« Member of Johns Hopkins' Black Student-Athlete Association.
« Junior Board Member with Each Child Counts, a non-profit that focuses on helping students in Liberia.
 
Michaela O'Neil (So. • F)
Major:  Molecular & Cellular Biology / Spanish
GPA:  4.00
« Has played in all 25 games with 24 starts.
« Averaging 8.8 points and 4.0 rebounds while leading the team in blocks (19) and ranking third in steals (23).
« Has scored in double figures 12 times with five or more rebounds 10 times this season.
« Volunteer at the Johns Hopkins Children's Center Pediatric Cardiac Inpatient Unit.
« Emergency Room Technician at St. Elizabeth's Medical Center gaining experience in phlebotomy, EKGs and CPR.
« Research Assistant. in the O'Connor Lab with various tasks focused on functions of sensory neurons.
 
Olivia Parisi (Gr. • F)
Major:  Economics (UG) / Finance (G)
GPA:  4.00 (UG) / 3.81 (G)
« Has played in all 25 games with 15 starts.
« Leads the team in scoring (10.5) and ranks second in rebounding (5.6).
« Leads the team in free throw percentage (.833) and ranks second in field goal percentage (.472).
« Has scored in double figures a team-high 13 times this season with five or rebounds 16 times.
« First Team CSC Academic All-American and an Honorable Mention WBCA All-American in 2022.
« Inducted into Phi Beta Kappa in 2022.
« Interned in the Connecticut State Elections Office and and at Hui E! in New Zealand
