Swaak Tabbed Centennial Conference Offensive Player of the Week

Sophomore Tallies 118 Assists in 3-0 Week

LANCASTER, PA – After averaging an incredible 13.11 assists per set in a 3-0 week, Johns Hopkins volleyball's Helena Swaak was named the Centennial Conference Offensive Player of the Week, as announced by the conference this morning. This is Swaak's second time garnering Player of the Week honors and first in 2023.

The sophomore started her weekend with a complete performance against 25th-ranked and host Ithaca College, racking up 35 assists, nine digs and season-high three blocks in a three-set victory. Following the Jays' opening win, Swaak tallied 44 assists — the most in a three-set match in her career — in a sweep over Susquehanna, before registering another 39 assists to pair with season-high marks in kills (4) and digs (13) in a 3-0 win over Geneseo.

Swaak's average of 10.52 assists per set leads the Centennial Conference and ranks sixth nationally, as the McLean, VA native continues her climb up Hopkins' all-time rankings, where she currently ranks 10th.

The Jays and Swaak are back in action for a mid-week matchup against Marymount Wednesday, Sept. 20 before the Jays host their inaugural Hopkins Invitational starting Friday, Sept. 22.
