WESTMINSTER, MD – The Johns Hopkins men's soccer team beat host McDaniel, 1-0, on graduate student 
Griffin Meyer's second-half goal. The Blue Jays improve to 5-2-3 overall and 1-1-1 in the Centennial Conference. The Green Terror fall to 3-2-4 and 1-2-0 in the conference.
 
Hopkins pressured Green Terror goalie Austin Heid early and often, including a pair of point-blank shots by 
Griffin Meyer and 
Max Edelstein in the 11
th minute. Sophomore 
Will Andrus let a shop rip from distance in the 42
nd minute, but it just missed the right upper 90.
 
Senior 
Francis Meyer hit a left-footed shot from the left edge of the box that just skipped by the far post. The Blue Jays finally broke through in the 75
th minute with 
Griffin Meyer's team-leading third goal of the season. Freshman 
CJ Feldman carried through the midfield and found 
Griffin Meyer at the top of the box. He collected the pass, dribbled through multiple Green Terror defenders before slotting a low left-footed shot past Heid.
 
Hopkins outshot McDaniel, 16-4, and had an 8-2 advantage in corners. Graduate student 
JP Furman earned his third shutout of the season without having to make a save. Heid tallied five saves in the loss.
 
Hopkins returns to action on Saturday, September 30 as the Blue Jays host the Swarthmore Garnet. The Centennial Conference contest is slated for a 3:00 pm start at Homewood Field.
