GLASSBORO, NJ – The seventh-ranked Johns Hopkins men's soccer team battled host Rowan to a 1-1 draw Wednesday night in non-conference action. The Blue Jays are now 0-1-2 on the season while the Profs are 1-0-2.
Hopkins got on the board early, scoring just 15:01 into the contest. Graduate student
Ben Goodman knocked down a Rowan pass deep in the Profs' end and then sophomore
Jackson Shapiro collected the ball and slotted a pass to senior
Logan Falzarano. He took one touch and sent the ball into the box, where graduate student
Griffin Meyer flicked it on to junior
Will Sangpachatanaruk, who one-timed it home from close range.
Rowan answered less than three minutes later however to draw level. Johnny Troiano took a pass from Jason Barragan, spun around and then fired a hard shot from 25 yards out just under the crossbar. That would do it for the scoring as neither team was able to find the go-ahead score.
Hopkins had a 10-7 advantage in shots and a 2-1 edge in corners.
Hopkins returns to action on Saturday as the Blue Jays finally play at Homewood Field. JHU will take on Lycoming in the Blue Jay Invitational at 1:30 pm.
