ALLENTOWN, PA – The Johns Hopkins wrestling team picked up a decisive win in its first match before dropping a pair at the Scott Wood Duals at Muhlenberg on Saturday. These were the first three duals of the season for the Blue Jays, who will next compete at the Blue Jay Classic at Elizabethtown on December 7.

Blue Jays Ease Past Rowan College of South Jersey
Johns Hopkins opened the day with a decisive 52-6 victory over Rowan College of South Jersey.  Only five bouts took place as the Blue Jays picked up four wins by forfeit, three pins and two technical falls to fuel the victory. First-period pins from
Noah Graber (184) and
Colin Finey (197) and a third-period pin from
Jake Pomykata (5:23) fueled the victory for the Blue Jays. Rowan got its only win by forfeit at 125.

Hopkins Falls to Washington & Lee, Lycoming
Johns Hopkins closed out its day with losses to Washington & Lee (38-9) and Lycoming (38-15) to end the day at 1-2. Graduate student
Chris Roybal (165) capped a perfect 3-0 day with a win by decision against the General and a 19-2 technical fall victory over Wyatt Frawley of Lycoming. The technical fall for Roybal against W&L was one of five bonus-point wins the Blue Jays picked up in their final two matches.Â
