Four Blue Jays Earn D3football.com All-Region Honors

Bourdo, Konkol, Nwosu, Peters Honored

MINNEAPOLIS, MN – The Johns Hopkins football team placed four players on the 2024 D3football.com All-Region 2 Team it was announced today.  The four include three first team honorees and one second team pick.  This is the fourth consecutive year that Johns Hopkins has had four or more players named to the all-region team and the 14th time since D3footbal.com first selected an all-region team in 2005 that four or more Blue Jays have been honored.  The four selections this season boost Johns Hopkins' all-time total to 83 all-region honorees.
 
Johns Hopkins' 2024 D3football.com All-Region Selections:
 
Carson Bourdo (Jr. • S) – First Team All-Region
• Making first appearance on the all-region team
• The 11th all-region defensive back for JHU and the third safety in four years to be selected
• First Team All-Centennial Conference
• Leads the team in interceptions (4), is tied for second in pass breakups (6) and ranks third in tackles (58)
• Headliner in a secondary that has allowed just five TD passes this season, the fewest in the nation in Division III
 
Matthew Konkol (Sr. • DE) – First Team All-Region
• Making first appearance on the all-region team
• The 11th all-region defensive lineman for JHU
• First Team All-Centennial Conference and the Centennial Defensive Player of the Year
• Counts 45 tackles and team-highs of 12 tackles for loss and 8.0 sacks to his credit
• Ranks 11th in school history with 25.0 career TFLs and ninth in sacks with 17.5
 
Michael Nwosu (Jr. • OL/T) – First Team All-Region
• Only non-senior offensive lineman on the First Team All-Region 2 Team
• Earns First Team All-Region for the second consecutive year and selection marks the 21st time a JHU offensive lineman has made the team
• First Team All-Centennial Conference
• Helping lead the way for an offense averaging 23.0 points and 347.8 yards per game.
• Has started all 36 games in his career.

Cole Peters (Sr. • LB) – Second Team All-Region
• Repeat Second Team All-Region selection
• Selection marks the ninth time a JHU linebacker as earned all-region honors
• First Team All-Centennial Conference
• Leads the team in tackles with 84 and has 6.5 tackles for loss, 2.0 sacks, one pass breakup and one fumble recovery to his credit
 
Johns Hopkins (11-1) will return to action on Saturday, December 14 when the Blue Jays host Mary Hardin-Baylor (8-3) in the NCAA Quarterfinals at Homewood Field (12 pm).
