Marielle McAteer scored the only goal of the opening quarter when she dodged down the middle of the fan and fired a shot to the right post at 2:30. The Blue Jays capitalized on a failed Wolverine clear and some tic-tac-toe passing led to a

Ava Angello and she scored from in-tight to make it 3-0.
Ashley Mackin capped the opening run when she took a pass from Cheetham, stepped down and blew home a shot from six yards out.

Maeve Barker transition goal and the Blue Jays led 5-1 at the half. Barker then opened the third-quarter scoring, finishing on a quick-stick at 10:06 off another Cheetham helper. Case made it a 7-1 game just 34 seconds later when she cut across the fan and beat Erin O'Grady from close range.
The Wolverines responded with a five-goal run, that spanned 15 minutes and 47 seconds, and saw them trim the deficit just one with 8:04 to play in the game. Jill Smith sparked the run with a free position goal at 8:51 in the third and a Julia Schwabe free position goal made it a 7-6 game at 8:04 in the fourth. Angello pushed the lead back to two when she stung an eight-meter off the crossbar and in at 6:36. Mackin made it a three-goal game at the 4:40-mark when she slipped between two defenders, took a pass from
Abbey Hurlbrink and scored over the top of O'Grady.

Katharine Merrifield then scored on a quick-stick in the slot just 31 seconds later and it was 9-8.
