LANCASTER, PA – Johns Hopkins volleyball's Simone Adam and Brooklyn Pater swept the Centennial Conference's weekly honors after leading the Blue Jays to a 3-0 week that featured wins over fifth-ranked Trinity (TX) and sixth-ranked Emory. This is Adam's third time being recognized as the Offensive Player of the Week and first since 2022, with Pater's Defensive Player of the Week honors serving as the first of her career.
 
Adam was the driving force behind Hopkin's potent attack in an undefeated weekend, leading the team in both kills per set (3.55) and hitting percentage (.452) across all three matches. The junior opened her weekend tallying a match-best 13 kills at a .440 clip in a 3-1 win over the Tigers — a program that ranked among the nation's best in blocks per set entering the tournament — before adding 11 kills in a sweep of Cal Lutheran.
 
Adam wrapped up the East West Classic on her highest note, leading the Blue Jays in kills (15) while hitting a weekend-best .464 in a four-set win over the Eagles. The junior added season-highs in both digs (6) and blocks (2) to help complete the weekend sweep and move Hopkins to 5-1 to start the season.
 
While Adam paced the offense, it was Pater racking up a team-best 1.45 blocks per set to lead the charge defensively. The senior was at her best in the Blue Jays' 3-1 win over Trinity, piling on a career-high eight blocks (one solo, seven assists) to pair with five kills before following that up with another five kills and a match-high six blocks in a sweep of the Regals.
 
Pater closed out the weekend with two more rejections as well as another five kills at a .286 clip in Hopkins' 3-1 win against Emory, bringing her season averages to 1.43 kills per set and a team-leading 0.90 blocks per set.
 
The Blue Jays are back in action this weekend for their home-opener where they will take on Ithaca Friday, Sept. 13 before facing off against Susquehanna and Marymount Saturday, Sept. 14.
