Johns Hopkins Rides Defense to 63-38 Win at Dickinson

CARLISLE, PA – Johns Hopkins held host Dickinson to just 28 percent shooting from the field as the Blue Jays beat the Red Devils, 63-38, Wednesday night in Centennial Conference action. The Blue Jays win their seventh straight and improve to 12-6 overall and 6-0 in the conference. The Red Devils fall to 6-12 on the season, and 1-5 in the Centennial.

Dickinson led 12-8 early after buckets from Luis Ruiz and Joey Dopriak. Tanti Felli scored on a layup at 12:28 to ignite a 26-5 run that spanned the remainder of the half. John Windley and Felli combined for 13 points while the defense limited the Red Devils to just 1-of-12 from the field and forced seven turnovers. The Blue Jays capped the run with six straight points from Wyatt Eglinton and Windley to take a 34-17 lead into the half.

The teams went back-and-forth over the first five minutes of the second half, with Dickinson outscoring Hopkins, 9-8. The Blue Jays responded with 10 unanswered points from Luke Thorburn and Charlie Jackson to push out to a 52-26 lead with 11:58 to play. The teams traded scores over the final 12 minutes and Hopkins left with the 63-38 win.

Eglinton Manner led all scorers with 13 points and grabbed a team-high six rebounds. Windley was the only other player in double figures, for both teams, with 10 points. Jackson added seven points and four boards. Cole Crosby and Dopirak led the Red Devils with eight points each, while Ruiz had a game-high eight rebounds.

The Red Devils 38 points are the fewest by a Hopkins' opponent since a 63-31 win over Haverford on January 14, 2017. In addition, Dickinson's field goal percentage of 28.0 is the lowest since December 2, 2024, when JHU held Muhlenberg to 26.4 percent from the field.

Hopkins returns to action on Saturday, February 1 when the Blue Jays host the Haverford Fords for their annual Wall-O'Mahony Game. Tip-off at Goldfarb Gym is slated for 3:00 pm.
