Hopkins Picked Eighth in D3Hoops.com Preseason Poll

Blue Jays Earn Second Highest Preseason Rank in Program History

BALTIMORE, MD – Following back-to-back trips to the Sweet 16, the Johns Hopkins women's basketball team enters the 2025-26 season ranked sixth in the nation in the D3Hoops.com Preseason Poll, released Monday. The Blue Jays' ranking marks the second-highest preseason position in program history, trailing only last year's No. 6 spot.

Hopkins returns a strong core from last year's squad that advanced to the Round of 16 for the second consecutive season under third-year head coach Rodney Rogan. Leading the group of returners are seniors Macie Feldman and Kendall Dunham, with Feldman earning Second Team All-Centennial and CSC Academic All-District honors a year ago.

The Blue Jays' 2025-26 roster features seven newcomers—three transfers and four freshmen—and brings back over 58% of the team's scoring and 63% of its minutes from last season. A year ago, Hopkins ranked among the nation's best defensively, finishing 14th in scoring defense, 15th in scoring margin and 17th in field goal percentage defense.

Reigning back-to-back national champion NYU headlines the preseason poll after receiving 17 of 25 first-place votes, followed by Scranton and UW-Oshkosh to round out the top three. The Centennial Conference placed two teams in the top 25, with Gettysburg checking in at No. 24 after reaching the 2024 Elite Eight.

Johns Hopkins opens its season on Friday, November 7, at the Wartburg Tip-Off Tournament in Waverly, Iowa, facing Luther in the opener before closing the weekend against host Wartburg, which also received votes in the D3Hoops.com preseason poll.
