LANCASTER, PA – After securing its ninth consecutive Centennial Conference Championship, the Johns Hopkins volleyball team had several athletes recognized with All-Conference honors.
Simone Adam highlighted the awards, earning the conference's Player of the Year distinction for the second consecutive year.
Adam, along with
Helena Swaak, was named to the All-Centennial First Team.
Nicole Tuszynski earned Second Team honors, while
Celine Ebert received Honorable Mention recognition. Additionally,
Elysa Pulliam was selected to the All-Sportsmanship Team. This marks the sixth straight year that Hopkins has had at least four players earn All-Centennial honors, bringing the Blue Jays' program total to 97.
Adam, who was also named Centennial Conference Tournament MVP, becomes the 10th Player of the Year in program history and just the third Blue Jay to receive the honor twice, joining
Elizabeth Wuerstle (2016-17) and
Natalie Aston (2019, 2021). The senior led the team with 3.61 kills per set and 339 total kills, hitting .323 on the season. She also recorded 24 aces, 266 digs (2.83 per set) and 51 total blocks, including 11 solo. Her First Team selection makes her one of only six Blue Jays to be named to an All-Conference Team four times.
Swaak earned her second career First Team selection after a standout senior season. The setter totaled 590 assists, leading the conference, and averaged 5.84 assists per set. She also contributed 188 kills, 38 service aces, 324 digs (3.21 per set) and 56 blocks across 101 sets played.
Tuszynski, in her sophomore year, earned her first career All-Conference honor with a spot on the Second Team. The team's primary libero, she averaged a team-high 4.13 digs per set and finished with 409 total digs. She also added 112 assists, 23 aces and four kills to her impressive defensive contributions.
Ebert, a freshman, made an immediate impact, earning Honorable Mention honors for her strong play. She ranked second on the team with 263 kills, averaging 2.63 kills per set with a .183 hitting percentage. Defensively, she was a force at the net, recording 45 blocks.
Hopkins will continue its postseason journey on Thursday, November 20, when the Blue Jays face Stevenson in the first round of the NCAA Tournament. First serve is scheduled for 7:00 p.m. at Goldfarb Gymnasium.
