NEW ORLEANS – Johns Hopkins cross country head coach
Bobby Van Allen has been named the Mid-Atlantic Women's Coach of the Year by the U.S. Track & Field and Cross-Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA), the association announced Tuesday.
Now in his 26th season at the helm, Van Allen guided the Blue Jays to their 11th podium finish since 2012, leading the team to fourth place with 140 points at the 2025 NCAA Cross Country National Championships. Under his direction, Hopkins also captured the team title at the Mid-Atlantic Regional Championships with 42 points—marking the program's 17th consecutive regional crown—and secured its 17th straight Centennial Conference title with a perfect score of 15 points.
This marks Van Allen's 13th Mid-Atlantic Coach of the Year honor and his fourth consecutive year receiving the award.
