AUSTIN, TX – Johns Hopkins'
Michaela O'Neil, who recently wrapped up a standout four-year career with the Blue Jay women's basketball team, was named to the 2024-25 College Sports Communicators (formerly CoSIDA) NCAA Division III Academic All-America Women's Basketball Team it was announced today.Â

O'Neil earned a spot on the second team and carries a perfect 4.0 cumulative grade point average as a molecular and cellular biology major. She becomes the fourth player in program history to earn Academic All-America honors as she joins
Kathy Darling (2003 / Second Team),
Lexie Schlotz (2019 / First Team) and
Olivia Parisi (2023 / Second Team) on the distinguished list.

The selection of O'Neil pushes Johns Hopkins' haul of Academic All-Americans to 10 this year as the men's soccer (3), women's soccer (2), volleyball (2) and football (2) teams combined for nine selections in the fall. The 10 selections boost Johns Hopkins' all-time Academic All-America count to 274, a mark that ranks fifth among all schools in all divisions.
