Tribe Tops Blue Jays In Season's Final Dual Meet

BALTIMORE, MD – William & Mary beat host Johns Hopkins, 177-85, on Friday afternoon in the Blue Jays' final dual meet of the season. JHU falls to 7-3 on the season while W&M improves to 3-6.
 
Hopkins took third and fourth place in the 400 Medley Relay to kick off the meet. Kai Henrikson-Brandt, Larry Yu, Aden Li and Michael Ivanov finished in 3:21.82 to lead the Blue Jays. The team of Dylan Jewett, Justin Ely, Rad Couture and Bryce Lloyd turned in a time of 3:22.09. Alessandro Pereira then took second place in the 1000 Free with a swim of 9:40.15. Jack Cornish followed in third place in 9:43.27.
 
Yu and Ken Ning went two-three in the 200 Free, finishing in 1:42.00 and 1:42.55, respectively. Jewett then won the 100 Back and turned in an NCAA B time of 49.21. Lloyd finished in fourth place with a swim of 50.39. Jonathan Wang led the Blue Jays with a third-place finish in the 100 Breast, touching in 55.99. Adam Sandid clocked in a 58.26 for fourth place.
 
Larkin Helman grabbed first in the 200 Fly, beating W&M's Zach LeMay by just three-hundredths of a second. Helman finished in 1:52.85 for the win. Couture followed in third place with a time of 1:53.17. Ivanov led the Blue Jays with a fourth-place finish in the 50 Free, touching in 21.19. Christian Mayr placed third in the 100 Free (46.74), followed by Nicholas Lee in fourth (47.22). Lloyd then took third in the 200 Back with a swim of 1:49.67.
 
Yu led JHU with a third-place finish in the 200 Breast as he touched in 2:07.30. Josiah March then placed second in the 500 Free with a time of 4:37.33. Ivanov beat Li for fourth place in the 100 Fly by just one-hundredth of a second, finishing in 51.75 and 51.76, respectively. Helman then took second in the 200 IM (1:53.62), followed by Yu (1:54.75) and Matthew Hartshorn (1:55.91).
 
Hopkins wrapped up the meet with second and third place finishes in the 200 Free Relay. Li, Sandid, Mayr and Ivanov took second in 1:23.27 and the team of Wang, Ely, Lloyd and Henrikson-Brandt finished in 1:25.43.
 
JHU returns to the pool on Saturday, February 14 in the Blue Jay Invitational.
