Game Recap: Women's Basketball |

No. 4/4 Blue Jays Dominate Inside, Roll Past Haverford 83-50

Hopkins Outscored the Fords 42-22 in the Paint

BALTIMORE, MD – The No. 4/4 Johns Hopkins women's basketball team controlled the paint and every other phase of the game in an 83-50 victory over Haverford on Saturday afternoon inside Goldfarb Gymnasium. The Blue Jays owned a 42-22 advantage in points in the paint, using their size and defensive pressure to dictate play. The win marked Hopkins' 11th straight over the Fords and lifted the Blue Jays to 18-0 overall and 9-0 in Centennial Conference play, keeping them among the nation's five remaining unbeaten Division III teams.

The teams were even early, tied 9-9 midway through the first quarter, before Hopkins seized control. A 13-0 run over a 5:21 stretch broke the game open, fueled by defensive intensity that forced eight Haverford turnovers. Kendall Dunham sparked the surge with an acrobatic layup and added two steals during the stretch, while four different Blue Jays recorded thefts. Jocelyn Goldstein capped the quarter with a layup to give Hopkins a 24-10 lead after one.

Hopkins opened the second quarter with the first nine points to stretch the margin to 33-10, punctuated by a Lauren Knudson three-pointer. Haverford responded with a 10-0 run to cut the deficit to 13, but the Blue Jays quickly regained control. Layups from Layla Henderson and Grace Soltes steadied the momentum, sending Hopkins into halftime with a 44-27 advantage.

Haverford again threatened in the third, but back-to-back threes from Knudson and Dunham halted the push. A driving layup from Faith Williamson pushed the lead to 57-32, and Hopkins never looked back. Williamson later drilled a three to give the Blue Jays a 69-38 cushion heading into the final quarter.

With the outcome well in hand, Hopkins matched Haverford basket-for-basket in the fourth. An Aria Mazza jumper capped the scoring and secured the 33-point win.

Williamson led the Blue Jays with a game-high 16 points, while Goldstein (13), Knudson (11) and Dunham (10) also reached double figures. Emily Collins controlled the glass with a game-high 11 rebounds to go with six points. Dunham paced the defense with four steals, while Stephanie Theodossakos added three steals and two blocks.

Johns Hopkins returns to action Wednesday, February 4, traveling to Gettysburg to face the Bullets inside Bream Gym. Tip-off is set for 6:00 p.m.
