The Facts
«  This is the 141st season of Johns Hopkins football.  JHU first fielded a team in 1882.
«  Johns Hopkins enters this week's game with an all-time record of 621-499-57 (.552).
«  Overall, JHU owns 17 Centennial Conference titles (all 17 won since 2002) and has qualified for the NCAA Playoffs 14 times (all 14 since 2005).

Oktoberfest
«   The calendar flipped to October with the recent game at Dickinson and the month has been good to the Blue Jays of late.
«  Despite the losses this season, the Blue Jays have won 49 of their last 55 games in the month of October dating back to 2010.
«  The Blue Jays had been just 10-8 in their previous 18 games in the month of October before jump-starting the current 55-game run with a 49-24 win at Susquehanna (10-23-2010).
« During their October run dating back to 2010, the Jays have lost just once at home.

Strength of Schedule
« Combined, JHU's three non-conference opponents are currently 14-4 (.778) on the year.
« The six teams Johns Hopkins has played to-date (Ithaca, Randolph-Macon, Susquehanna, Dickinson, Carnegie Mellon, Ursinus) are currently a combined 28-8 (.778).  Ranked by opponent winning percentage, Johns Hopkins has played the fifth most difficult schedule in the nation to-date.
« The combined record of the Blue Jays' 10 opponents this season is 35-19 (.648); that ranks as the sixth-highest overall opponent winning percentage in the nation.  By that metric, Johns Hopkins is the only team in the Centennial Conference with one of the 25 most difficult schedules in the nation.

Three Straight on the Road
« Johns Hopkins played its third consecutive game on the road last week at Ursinus.   This marked just the fifth time this century that JHU has played three straight road games.
« This was also the first time Johns Hopkins has played three consecutive games on the road in one season since the first three games of the 2010 season, when the Blue Jays played at Randolph-Macon, Gettysburg and Moravian to the open the season.

Friday Night Lights
«  Dating back to 1982, when the Blue Jays began regularly scheduling games on Friday night, this week's game will be the 66th for Johns Hopkins under the Friday night lights and the second of three Friday night games the Blue Jays will play this season.
« Since 1982, Johns Hopkins is 46-18-1 (.715) on Friday night, including 41-13-1 (.755) at Homewood Field.
« Johns Hopkins has won 17 straight home games on Friday night dating back to 2008.  The last home loss on a Friday night for the Blue Jays was a 41-10 setback to Gettysburg in 2007.
« Gettysburg has been Johns Hopkins' most common Friday night opponent with 17 all-time Friday night meetings.  The Blue Jays are 14-3 all-time on Friday night against the Bullets, including 13-3 at home.

Wods' 150th
« Last week's game at Ursinus was the 150th as a member of the Johns Hopkins football program for head coach Dan Wodicka.
« Wodicka played in 45 games as a player at JHU from 2010-13, was an assistant coach for 71 games (2014-15, 2019-23) and last week's game was his 34th as the Blue Jay head coach.  JHU is 125-25 in Wods' 150 games at Hopkins.

Scully Among Centennial Leaders
«  Senior Justin Scully was in on six tackles last week at Ursinus and continues to sit atop the tackle chart for the Blue Jays.
« Scully now has 59 tackles, including 1.5 for losses and half a sack, along with two pass breakups to his credit this season.  He currently ranks third in the Centennial Conference in tackles and tackles per game (9.8).
« Scully has totaled 12 or more tackles three times this season with a career-best 15 against Susquehanna.  With his 59 tackles on the year thus far, he is now just seven tackles shy of 100 for his career.

Olah Leads the CC in PBUs
«  Junior Kevin Olah has recorded 27 tackles, a team-high seven pass breakups and one interception through six games.  He is tied for fifth on the team in tackles, leads the team in PBUs and is tied for the team-lead in INTs.
« Olah's seven pass breakups to-date lead the Centennial Conference and his eight overall passes defended (INTs + PBUs) are tied for second.

Stup Continues Climb Up Tackle Charts
«  Sophomore LB Cole Stup continues to make an impact in the middle of the Blue Jay defense as he led the team with nine tackles at Ursinus.
« Through six games, he now ranks second on the team in tackles with 43 and has 3.5 TFLs and one pass breakup to his credit.\
« Stup's 3.5 TFLs last week at Carnegie Mellon are the most by a Johns Hopkins player since Isaac Urquidi had 3.5 in a 27-13 win against John Carroll early in the 2025 season.

A Three-Headed Monster
«  Johns Hopkins has been without All-American wide receiver Cole Crotty since early in the third quarter of the season-opening win against Ithaca.
« The Blue Jays have leaned on their depth at wide receiver in Crotty's absence with senior Robbie Enright and sophomores Alex Orecchio and Jaeger Krauss leading the way.
« Enright counts 28 receptions for 294 yards and three touchdowns to his credit, while Orecchio has 20 receptions for 303 yards and two scores.  Krauss counts 21 receptions for 268 yards and two scores in five games played (DNP vs. Ithaca).

Baker Among CC Leaders
« Through six games, junior quarterback Luke Baker is 107-of-185 (.578) for 1,171 yards with eight touchdowns and five interceptions; he also ranks second on the team in rushing with 176 yards and two touchdowns in five games played (he missed the game at Ursinus last week).
« Through games of October 17, Baker ranks second in the league in passing yards per game (234.2) and leads the league in total offense per game (269.4).
«  Baker was 37-of-52 for 218 yards and three touchdowns against one INT and rushed 12 times for 63 yards in the Blue Jays' game at Randolph-Macon.
« The 37 completions for Baker rank as the third-highest single-game total in program history.  Only David Tammaro, who had 42 completions at Washington & Lee in 2017, and Hewitt Tomlin, who completed 39 passes at Gettysburg in 2011, have had more completions in a game than Baker's 37 at Randolph-Macon.
« Baker started 47 games as in infielder for the Johns Hopkins baseball team last spring.  He hit .271 with 56 runs scored, 25 RBIs, five home runs and nine doubles and set a program single-season record with 45 walks.

It's All Academic
«  Since 2011, the Johns Hopkins football team has produced 49 CoSIDA/CSC Academic All-Americans.  Only one other Division III program has produced even 30 during that time (Carnegie Mellon (32)) and only two others - MIT (24) and Rose-Hulman (23) - have even produced 20 during that time.
« Among all football-playing schools in the NCAA and NAIA, Johns Hopkins' 49 CoSIDA/CSC Academic All-Americans is also the most since 2011.

At Home at Homewood
«  Since the start of the 2014 season, the Blue Jays are 65-7 (.903) at Homewood Field; they are 81-10 (.890) at Homewood since 2010.
«  JHU won a school-record 19 consecutive games at home from midway through the 2019 season until the 2023 NCAA Quarterfinal.
