LANCASTER, PA – Johns Hopkins senior
Connor Powell has been named the Centennial Conference Wrestler of the Week it was announced today. Powell is the second Blue Jay to earn the award this season as classmate
Jacob Pomykata was honored earlier this year.
Â
Powell went 3-0 on the week with wins in Blue Jay dual meets against McDaniel, Merchant Marine and Muhlenberg. He scored a win by decision against the Green Terror and added victories by major decision (USMMA) and pin (Muhlenberg) in a season-ending tri-meet at home on Saturday.Â
Â
Powell's win against McDaniel was the 75th of his career and he went past 50 career bonus point wins with this major and pin against the Mariners and Mules, respectively. He now sports a career record of 77-47 with 13 major decisions, 12 technical falls and 26 pins to his credit. His 51 career bonus point wins rank third in school history.
Â
Johns Hopkins will return to action on Saturday, February 14 when the Blue Jays travel to the Merchant Marine Academy for the 2026 Centennial Conference Championships.
