PHILADELPHIA, PA – Johns Hopkins went 2-1 at the Temple Invitational on Sunday. JHU earned its second win over 10
th-ranked Penn State in the last two weeks. The Blue Jays improve to 33-5 on the season.
Hopkins opened the day with a 17-10 loss to eighth-ranked Penn.
Bethany Lee and
Adrianne Lin won two bouts each to lead the Foil squad to a 5-4 win.
Nicole Yu won two of her three bouts in a tough 5-4 loss for the Epee squad. And in the Sabre,
Josephine Chang earned the Blue Jays lone win.
JHU then beat Penn State, 18-9, winning all three weapons.
Lauren Prieur won all three of her bouts to lead the Sabre squad to a 7-2 win, while Yu did the same in a 6-3 win for the Epee squad.
Rosy Cepero and
Julianna Wu each won twice and the Foil squad won 5-4.
The Blue Jays ended the day with a close 15-12 loss to the 13
th-ranked St. John's Red Storm.
Maddie Huang and
Alexis Li won two bouts each in a 6-3 win for the Sabre squad.
Mickey Zhang won twice, including the 100
th of her career, in a 5-4 loss for the Epee squad. In the Foil, Cepero and Wu won one bout each in a 7-2 loss.
Hopkins returns to action on Saturday, February 28 at the 2026 NIWFA Championship.
