BALTIMORE, MD – The No. 3/3 Johns Hopkins women's basketball team has been selected to host an NCAA Tournament Regional for the second straight season, as announced by the association Monday. The four-team regional includes Hopkins, Hunter, Baldwin-Wallace and William-Paterson, with games to be played from March 6-7 inside Goldfarb Gymnasium at the Newton White Athletic Center.
The Blue Jays (25-1) earned an at-large bid after falling to Gettysburg in the Centennial Conference Title game. This marks the 15
th time Hopkins has appeared in the NCAA Tournament dating back to 1995, with the Blue Jays holding an 18-15 overall record in the Tournament.
Hopkins is joined by the Hawks (20-7), who secured the CUNYAC title, as well as the Yellow Jackets (24-3) and Pioneers (25-2) who both lost in their respective conference title games.
Series History
Friday's game will be the second meeting all-time between Hopkins and Hunter, with the Blue Jays winning the only meeting between the two in their 2003 NCAA First Round matchup, 75-50.
Baldwin-Wallace-William Paterson will open the regional Friday, March 6 at 4 p.m., with Hopkins-Hunter to follow at 6:00 p.m.
