Reagan O'Brien was selected by the New York Charging with the fifth overall pick in the Women's Lacrosse League's (WLL) inaugural college draft Wednesday night. O'Brien joins former teammate Madison Doucette in New York.
O'Brien leads the nation in total caused turnovers (60) and caused turnovers per game (4.62). She also ranks seventh nationally in ground balls per game (3.46). She had a season-high eight caused turnovers against USC on March 19 and has notched at least five caused turnovers in eight games this season.
The Big Ten Defensive Player of the Year and a consensus First Team All-American in 2025, O'Brien broke the NCAA single season record for caused turnovers by 20. She finished the season with 103 and currently has 226 in her career. O'Brien is nine shy of tying the NCAA career record of 235. She also ranks seventh in program history with 168 career ground balls.
