«  Johns Hopkins (1-1) welcomes Susquehanna (2-0) to Homewood Field for the Blue Jays' final non-conference game of the 2026 season.  This is a rematch of last season's NCAA Quarterfinal game, which Johns Hopkins won 40-10.
  «  Johns Hopkins dropped a 28-21 decision at Randolph-Macon last Saturday to slip to 1-1 on the year.
« Susquehanna impressively bumped its record to 2-0 on the season with a dominating 41-14 win at Bridgewater last Saturday.
  «  Johns Hopkins fell out of the top 10 in both the AFCA and D3football.com Polls this week after the loss at Randolph-Macon.  The Blue Jays are ranked 15th in this week's AFCA Poll and 13th in the D3football.com Poll.
« Like Johns Hopkins, Susquehanna is also ranked in the top 25 of both polls as the AFCA has the River Hawks at 19th, while D3football.com has them at 24th.
  «  This is the 141st season of Johns Hopkins football.  JHU first fielded a team in 1882.
«  Johns Hopkins enters this week's game with an all-time record of 621-495-57 (.554).
«  Overall, JHU owns 17 Centennial Conference titles (all 17 won since 2002) and has qualified for the NCAA Playoffs 14 times (all 14 since 2005).
« In this decade (2020-2025), Johns Hopkins ranks third in Division III in total victories (57/57-9).
  «  In a vote of the team, five players were selected to serve as captains of the 2026 Johns Hopkins football team.
« Seniors Cole Crotty (WR), Robby Enright (WR), Will Seibert (DL) and Browning Trainer (LB) and junior Luke Baker (QB) will lead the team as co-captains in 2026.  Each of the five is in his first season as a co-captain.
  «  For the third consecutive week, Johns Hopkins will play a team that was picked either first or second in its league's preseason poll.
« Susquehanna was picked to win the Landmark Conference title by the head coaches in the league.  Previously, JHU played Ithaca, which was picked to finish second in the Liberty League, and Randolph-Macon, the top pick in the ODAC Preseason Poll.
  «  In this decade, Johns Hopkins ranks third in Division III in victories (57) while Susquehanna is tied for fifth (54).
« Dating back to the start of the previous decade (2010-Present), Johns Hopkins has won 157 games.  Only Mount Union (203), North Central (177) and Wisconsin Whitewater (171) have won more games in Division III than the Blue Jays.
  «  Johns Hopkins' game this week against Susquehanna is the third of three straight games that comprise one of the strongest non-conference schedules in the nation.
« In addition to games against Ithaca (8-2 in 2025) and Randolph-Macon (9-2), Hopkins will close the non-conference portion of its schedule against a Susquehanna team that posted an 11-3 record last season. 
« Combined, JHU's three non-conference opponents posted a 28-7 record (.800) a year ago.
  «  Junior quarterback Luke Baker was 37-of-52 for 218 yards and three touchdowns against one INT and rushed 12 times for 63 yards in last week's game at Randolph-Macon.
« The 37 completions for Baker rank as the third-highest single-game total in program history.  Only David Tammaro, who had 42 completions at Washington & Lee in 2017, and Hewitt Tomlin, who completed 39 passes at Gettysburg in 2011, have had more completions in a game than Baker's 37 last week.
« Through two games, Baker is 55-of-83 (.663) for 543 yards with six touchdowns and two interceptions; he also leads the team in rushing with 102 yards on 22 carries.
« Through two games, Baker leads the Centennial Conference in passing yards, touchdown passes and total offense per game (322.5).
  «  Sophomore wide receiver Jaeger Krauss played in exactly one game last season and didn't appear in the Blue Jays' 30-21 season-opening win against Ithaca, but made a name for himself last week when he got the start against Randolph-Macon.
« Krauss had eight receptions for 63 yards and two touchdowns against the Yellow Jackets; his first touchdown tied the game at 7-7 early in the second quarter and his second tied the game at 21-all early in the fourth.
  «  Sophomore Alex Orecchio entered last week's game at Randolph-Macon with 11 career receptions to his credit, but nearly matched that total against the Yellow Jackets with nine receptions for 51 yards.
  «  Senior Browning Trainer was named to the 2026 Allstate AFCA Good Works Team earlier this week.  He becomes the eighth overall Blue Jay and the fifth in the last five years to be named to the prestigious team.
« The Allstate AFCA Good Works Team recognizes the extra efforts made by college football players and student support staff off the field. « The award honors college football players who go the extra mile for those in need with their efforts in volunteerism and community service.
« Johns Hopkins is one of just four football programs in the nation - at any level - to have a player named to the team in each of the last five years.  The others are Bethel (MN), St. John's (MN) and Morningside (IA).

  «  Junior Kevin Olah has recorded 12 tackles, three pass breakups and one interception through two games.  He is tied for third on the team in tackles, leads the team in PBUs and is tied for the team-lead in INTs.
« His 46-yard interception return last week at Randolph-Macon set up the Blue Jays' second touchdown of the game.  The 46-yard return is the longest by a Johns Hopkins player since Carson Bourdo took one back 70 yards for a touchdown against Muhlenberg in 2024.
  «  Including the 1-1 start this season, and dating back to 2010, Johns Hopkins is 55-6 in the month of September.  Also dating back to 2010, the Blue Jays are 25-2 at home and 30-4 on the road in September.
   « This week's game at Susquehanna will the 73rd for Johns Hopkins against a team currently competing in the Landmark Conference, although 70 of the previous 72 games were played while each of the current Landmark teams was competing in a different conference.
« Three current members of the Landmark - Juniata, Moravian and Susquehanna - competed as associate members of the Centennial Conference in football for a period of time recently.  Juniata and Moravian were CC members from 2007-2022, while Susquehanna was a member from 2010-2022.
« In all, JHU played 42 games against Juniata (15), Moravian (15) and Susquehanna (12) while those teams were members of the CC; JHU was 37-5 in those 42 games, including 9-3 vs. the River Hawks.
« Overall, JHU is 52-18-2 against teams currently in the Landmark.
  «  Since 2011, the Johns Hopkins football team has produced 49 CoSIDA/CSC Academic All-Americans.  Only one other Division III program has produced even 30 during that time (Carnegie Mellon (32)) and only two others - MIT (24) and Rose-Hulman (23) - have even produced 20 during that time.
« Among all football-playing schools in the NCAA and NAIA, Johns Hopkins' 49 CoSIDA/CSC Academic All-Americans is also the most since 2011.
  «  Including the win against Ithaca, the Blue Jays have enjoyed a dominant recent run at Homewood Field.
«  Since the start of the 2014 season, the Blue Jays are 65-6 (.915) at Homewood Field; they are 81-9 (.900) at Homewood since 2010.
«  JHU won a school-record 19 consecutive games at home from midway through the 2019 season until the 2023 NCAA Quarterfinal.
 

«  Johns Hopkins tied the program record for wins in a season with 12 in 2025.
« The 12-win season in 2025 marked the fourth season in program history, including the third straight, that Johns Hopkins has won 12 games in season (2018, 2023, 2024, 2025).
