LEXINGTON, KY – On the heels of a three-match winning streak and a 2-0 weekend at the Hopkins Invitational, Johns Hopkins senior Ivy Swafford has been named the AVCA Division III Women's Player of the Week. She joins Simone Bliss (2021), Natalie Aston (2021) and Helena Swaak (2023) as the only Blue Jays in program history to receive this honor.
 
Swafford, also named the Centennial Conference Offensive Player of the Week, powered Johns Hopkins to wins over Scranton and St. John Fisher at the Hopkins Invitational, totaling 43 kills (5.38 per set) on a .422 hitting percentage across eight sets. The outside hitter also added seven aces and 22 digs (2.75 per set) en route to earning All-Tournament Team honors.
 
Swafford opened the weekend with a career-high 25 kills against the Royals before following up with 18 kills on a .500 hitting percentage in a sweep of the Cardinals.
 
The senior's 18-kill performance against St. John Fisher also extended her impressive recent run, giving her 67 kills over her last three matches. That total is the most by a Johns Hopkins player over a three-match span in at least the last 10 years.
 
Johns Hopkins returns to action Friday, October 2, when the Blue Jays square off against sixth-ranked Juniata at 6 p.m. inside Goldfarb Gymnasium.
