Box Score ANNAPOLIS, MD – Mason Hofmann and Blake Lowe each notched a hat trick to lead Johns Hopkins to an 18-13 win over Iona Sunday afternoon. The Blue Jays win their second straight to even their record at 2-2.
 
Luke Mendelsohn scored at the 4:51-mark in the first to put JHU up 2-1 and spark a 5-2 run. Four Blue Jays scored during the run, capped by Hofmann just 43 seconds into the second quarter. Christian Couch got one back for the Gaels at 5:54, making it a 6-4 game. Lowe answered for the Blue Jays, scoring a man-up goal just 24 seconds later. That ignited a 5-1 run that bridged halftime and saw Hopkins take an 11-5 lead. Hofmann punctuated the run, which saw five Blue Jays score, with a five-meter goal at 6:37 in the third.
 
Iona battled back, scoring four of the next five goals over a span of four and a half minutes to cut the deficit to three. David Edelman halted the run with his second goal of the game at the 1:23-mark of the third. His scored put JHU up 13-9 and kick-started a 6-2 Hopkins' run. It spanned exactly eight minutes and saw JHU push its lead out to 18-11. Five Blue Jays combined for the six goals, led by a pair from Mattieu Giauque. Iona tacked on two goals in the final 62 seconds to account for the 18-3 final.  
 
Lowe notched his first career hat trick for the Blue Jays while Hofmann had his second of the season. Owen Bartlett, Giauque and Edleman tallied two goals each.
