Box Score ANNAPOLIS, MD – Johns Hopkins wrapped up a five-game weekend at the Navy Open with a 17-7 win over Salem Sunday afternoon. The Blue Jays improve to 3-2 with their third straight win.
 
The game's first 10 minutes were a back-and-forth affair as the teams were tied at four after a goal by Patrick Rooney. Ben Lucas then scored at the 3:28-mark to give the Blue Jays their first lead of the game. JHU then scored three in a row to push out to an 8-4 lead with 1:44 to play. The Tigers answered with two of the next three goals to make it a three-goal game at the half.
 
Hopkins came out firing in the second half, scoring six unanswered in a nine-minute span to push out to a 15-6 lead. Five different Blue Jays scored during the run, fueled by two from Lucas. Salem got one back with 5:11 to play on an extra-man, but Brody Mars answered with a pair for JHU to close out the game.
 
Jasper Hirt notched his first career hat trick while Lucas also had a hat trick to lead the Blue Jays. Mason Hofman, Alec Baker and Mars finished with two goals each.
 
Hopkins returns to action on Saturday, September 12 at the Salem Open. JHU will take on Mercyhurst and Fresno Pacific on Saturday before facing George Washington and Gannon on Sunday.
