Biography

2008: Third Team USILA All-American • Ran starting streak to 34 straight games by starting all 17 games • Routinely draws the assignment of marking the opposition[apos]s top attackmam • Grabbed a spot on the NCAA All-Tournament Team after helping hold Duke[apos]s Matt Danowski (2g, 1a) and Syracuse[apos]s Mike Leveille (1g, 2a) to a total of just six points in JHU[apos]s two games in the final four - Danowski and Leveille finished first and third, respectively, in the nation in scoring • Anchored a defense that was solid against the opposition[apos]s starting attack • In 17 games the starting attack units the Blue Jays faced totaled just 55 goals and 29 assists (an average of 4.94 points per game).

2007: Emerged as the leader of the Hopkins defense and one of the top defensemen in the nation • Earned Honorable Mention USILA All-America honors • Started all 17 games on close defense and grabbed 11 ground balls on the year • Sparkled late in the season as the Blue Jay defense began to emerge • Unit allowed an average of just 7.22 goals goals per game during season-ending nine-game winning streak after allowing an average of 8.5 during the first eight games • Sparked JHU[apos]s 14-6 win against Georgetown in the NCAA Quarterfinals by helping hold Hoya All-American Brendan Cannon scoreless • Anchored a defensive effort against Delaware in the NCAA Semifinals that resulted in the Hens being held to the lowest goal total in semifinal history (3) • Polished off campaign with a strong effort in the NCAA Championship game against Duke, when he helped hold National Player of the Year Matt Danowski to one goal and one assist.

2006: One of five freshmen on the team who played in all 14 games • Played short stick defensive midfield and picked up a pair of assists and five ground balls • Two assists accounted for more points than all other defensive players combined • Made the switch from defense to short-stick defensive middie to compensate for an injury-depleted defensive midfield • Saw extensive playing time in the middle of the season with the injury to Matt Feild • Picked up assists against UMBC and Mount St. Mary[apos]s.

At South River: Three-sport standout as he lettered in football, basketball and lacrosse • Two-time all-league pick in lacrosse and an all-met and All-America selection as a senior • Three-time captain in lacrosse • Four-year letter winner in football • Rushed for over 1,000 yards as a junior and senior and scored more than 35 touchdowns combined those two years despite missing several games with injuries • Also played four seasons of basketball.
