Biography

Jonas Fester is in his seventh season with the Blue Jays after previously serving as the team's hitting, infield and strength and conditioning coach from 2008-2010. He is the first person in program history to reach the College World Series as a player and as a coach.

Before joining Babb's staff, Fester spent the previous two seasons as the graduate assistant coach for Catholic University. Catholic advanced to the NCAA regionals for the first time in school history in 2011.

While at Hopkins from 2005-2008, Fester earned first team All-American honors at shortstop. He was also the regional player of the year in 2007 and a two-time First Team All-Centennial Conference selection. Fester was a 2008 Academic All-American and and was twice named First-Team Academic All-District in 2007 and 2008.

Fester played professionally with the Fort Worth Cats of the American Association and Texarkana Gunslingers of the Continental Baseball League.
