Biography

At Hopkins: The team[apos]s closer • could also make some starts in midweek games and still close during the weekend contests • has excellent velocity and control • will also see time at first base and as the designated hitter • continues to get in better shape and improve his strength • tremendous power • played last summer in Wisconsin and led his team to the Northwoods League Championship.

2003: Appeared in 13 games on the mound and nine games in the field or as the designated hitter • made four starts and nine relief appearances • posted a 3-2 record with a 3.63 ERA in 34.2 innings • tied for the team lead with three saves and also totaled a career-high 31 strikeouts and one complete game • allowed just two earned runs on four hits while striking out eight in 7.1 innings in his first career start against Wayne State on March 15 • gave up two earned runs on six hits in six innings to earn the win versus McDaniel on April 15 • did not allow a run and recorded three saves in five appearances from April 19 to May 7 • batted .143 with four hits in 28 at-bats • also totaled four runs scored, one home run and seven RBIs • was 2-for-4 with a grand slam in the season opener versus Albion on March 8.

2002: Played in 16 games in the field and made 12 appearances as a relief pitcher • compiled a 3-0 record and a team-best 0.55 ERA while posting one save • allowed just one run on seven hits while striking out 16 in 16.1 innings • batted .366 with 15 hits in 41 at-bats and tied for second on the team with five home runs • added nine runs, three doubles and 15 runs batted in • went 2-for-4 with two home runs and three RBIs against York May 7 • smashed a three-run home run, the first of his career, in a 27-7 win over Robert Morris March 16 • struck out four batters in 2.2 scoreless innings to earn the win as JHU defeated Muhlenberg, 5-4, in extra innings to win the Centennial Conference Tournament.

2001: Pitched a total of five innings in four relief appearances • recorded a 1.80 earned run average with five strikeouts in five innings and led the team with two saves • allowed opponents to hit just .118 • pitched one scoreless inning for his first career save against Messiah.

Personal: Was also a member of the football team at Evanston High School • captain of the baseball team his senior year • an international relations major.
